https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=EGroBsLule8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EGroBsLule8 The Vulnerabilities of our food, energy, and water systems to present and projected climate change make building resilience in renewable energy and food production a challenge. Agri-Voltaics particularly "Rooftop Agri-Voltaics" is a novel approach to solve this challenge by creating a hybrid of "Co-Located" agriculture and solar photovoltaic (PV) infrastructure. Agri-Voltaics provide mutual benefits across the FOOD-WATER-ENERGY nexus. The solar panels provide clean electricity, the place below and around the solar panels can be used for agriculture and the solar panels become clean catchment with maximum run-off co-efficient to harvest rainwater which in turn can be used for irrigation. This is one of our Agri-photovoltaic projects in Bangalore. It is our hope that these experiments provide a foundation and motivation for further exploration towards the resilience of food and energy systems under the projected increased environmental stress involving heat, drought, and shortage of food.
