Like in many parts of Bangalore, Rammurthynagar is facing sever water crisis. This apartment was no exception. Their Tube-wells had gone dry and they were dependent on tanker water supply . They were spending unreasonable amounts of money for water supply (Tanker water). They were also worried about the quality of water supplied. They wanted to cut their dependence on tanker water and install a rainwater harvesting unit. This way they could save substantial money spent on water and also get better quality of water.

WHAT WE DID

The rooftop rainwater was captured and put through a first rain separation. The Overflow from FRS is lead into a Sedimentation tank. The overflow from the sedimentation tank is then passed on to the modified rapid sand filter . The filtered water is drained inside the sump

RESULT

1677,000 Liters of water & 2680 units of electricity saved every year .
