Rainwater Harvesting

CUSTOMER REQUIREMENT

Like in many parts of Bangalore, Sarjapur Road is facing sever water crisis. This apartment was no exception. Their Tube-wells had gone dry and they were 100% dependent on tanker water supply . They were sceptical about the quality of water supplied. They were spending a lot of money on tanker water . They wanted to cut their dependence on tanker water and install a rainwater harvesting unit. This way they could save substantial amount of money spent on water and also get better quality of water .

WHAT WE DID

This project posed many challenges. Firstly sunp was at a higher elevation than the rainwater outlet level. Secondly the layout had many UG cales and sewer network. We Reversed the slope of the rainwater lines and took it in the reverse slope to the sump. Three sedimentation tanks were constructed. The overflow from the sedimentation tanks were drained into the filter comprising of aggregates and carbon. Filtered water was drained into an open well

RESULT

3280,000 Liters of water & 5300 units of electricity saved every year .
