Positioning of solar panels becomes a little tricky for residential customers for a few reasons . 1. Most customers prefer to use the space below the panels . 2. Position of columns obstruct the movement. 3. There will inevitably be some shadows since most household would have a water tank, some trees around and in few cases lift rooms. 4. Provisioning of walkways for panel cleaning. * So it becomes important to run a few iterations with the customers on how they want their solar panel layout . * Once they have a fair idea on the layout , it is important to check for shadows (Most importantly for the months of december and june). * It is very important not to have constant shadows on the panel to prevent formation of hotspots and reduction in panel efficiency. ----> A simple model like the one made here will go a long way in helping both the customer as well as the installer .
