This is our latest Rainwater harvesting project at SV Brindavanam Apartments located at Kaadubeesanahalli ; Bangalore.
The Complex has 315 units with a daily water consumption of approximately 125 Kilo Liters.
The Apartment has two blocks with a total Roof Area of 5, 300 Square Meters.
The Design is to collect all the rooftop rainwater run-off , pass it through a sedimentation tank after draining out the initial few minutes of water(First rain Separator) .
The overflow from the sedimentation tank is passed through a filter consisting of pebbles and activated carbon. The Filtered water is drained into the underground sump. The sump overflow is diverted for groundwater recharge.
The Entire rooftop is split into 4 units of different catchment area. Run off from each unit drains into the respective sedimentation tank, respective filter and respective sump.
In total the Complex harvests about 4, 300 Kilo liters of water every year.
